Comments Thread For: Anthony Yarde Facing Sergey Kovalev at Right Time, Says Warren

ANTHONY YARDE WILL be packing his gloves for Russia soon with the date for his WBO world light heavyweight title challenge against Sergey Kovalev now set for August 24. The fact that Anthony so quickly and willingly accepted the mission tells you what you need to know about him and there is no doubt over the incredible self-belief he possesses.

Fairly confident Yarde gets KOd! No doubt his trainer will continue to talk nonsense regardless of the outcome!

I'm not sure how feasting on over the hill, European level super middleweights really prepares you for a shot at Kovalev

I assume the hope is that he's past his best too

Too big a step up in class plus away from home in russia will be a steep hill to climb.

Well, I understand Mr. Warren's plan is that Yarde will overwhelm old Kova with speed...

Yarde will have to try and get past Kovs jab and straight punches, ward managed this but even he had trouble with him?

I think is hoping he is right, maybe Yarde can do what Ricky Hatton did with Warren when he promoted the Hatton/Tsyzu fight, hoping to get Kovalev just at the right time, him losing his focus with the whole Cashnelo thing, now that we know Canelo isn't fighting again this year, am hoping to see a lot of fights getting signed.

Talk about pissing in the wind. Yarde own trainer is a hype job, otherwise he would have been tested they have gone about no experience yet jumped at a world title.

Even if he wins, what they think he gonna go the route of Nathan Cleverley and fight pure bums until you have to fight the Number 1 guy and lose your title because you was fed no hopers you entire career.

Anthony Yarde must win by any means, even it that entails employing dirty tactics against heartless Sergey Kovalev. Yarde must take a page of dirty boxing in the inside from Kovalev's P4P American conqueror Andre 'S.O.G' Ward, otherwise Yarde too will fall like his fellow overrated countryman Nathan Cleverly.

The fact that this fight is taking place in Russia should prioritize a KO as the only method to victory for the Brit, unlike the hometown champion Nathan Cleverly, Anthony Yarde will not have the support of the crowd or help of a UK ref ( Terry O'Connor ) to keep him on his feet.
