Sergey Kovalev's promoter finally found out that a Canelo Alvarez-Kovalev fight was a no go for September 14 the same way as everyone else. It wasn't until Golden Boy Promotions issued a press release Wednesday morning that Kathy Duva knew to completely shift her focus toward Kovalev's mandatory title defense against Anthony Yarde on August 24. Duva had spoken to Golden Boy Promotions president Eric Gomez as recently as Friday regarding an Alvarez-Kovalev fight.

I hope the fight doesn't get revised later this year with all the unsettled business at 160.

If it does happen, that pushes the potential #CANELOGGG3 back to May.

It's too late Kathy. Canelo has just shut it down until next year.

The irony that I find in all of this, is that Canelo owes DAZN nine more fights and his body is already slowly beginning to deteriorate and break down; Especially his knees.

The question still looms; Does even make it through this contract in which he has only fought twice with at least nine more of them to go? Only time will reveal.

I finally have learned Canelos trying to age Kovalev an extra 3 mos because he knows hell get kod by the #1 Lhw..... Oh wait the gstringers say hes a bum so actually.... nowhere near as skilled as Rolls who hes ducking,& even though he already aged baby Kovalev by beating him twice, surely hes trying to age baby kov some more by fighting papa Kovalev instead....

Wow! It’s obvious they firmly believe Yarde is less of a risk than Canelo! So why not blast Yarde out then fight Canelo and take both paydays instead of just one.

Inactivity? You do realise he fought in May dont you bra? He is under no obligation to fight Independence weekend, he just usually chooses to. 6 months between fights is the norm for the elite. May + 6 months = November. Young King x
