I was OK with Vanes not Rolls or Jamie. Vanes was a easy fight so as not to jeopardise the rematch. The other two I don't care for. By the way you do know that three out the last five opponents Canelo faced were weight restricted in some way?

Sure he was ranked that high, but as someone who has watched enough of his fights, he was clearly starting a decline in 2016. Hopkins was taking notice of it against Brook. Whether it was because he was only fighting twice a year, he physically didn't look like he did previous years. Like I said, he could still perform at a high level because he was so much better than non-elite fighters, but at the highest level, I don't think his body was quite there. He doesn't move the same as he used to, his punches are slower etc. That's not so much the opponent as it is really a 35+ year old guy moving how most guys do when they get to that age. Abel really did him a disservice by not preserving his body like he should. He should have had a nutritionist years ago.
