There’s no way of really telling when someone is in their prime. But what is true is that at the time when Canelo fought GGG, GGG was still considered to be top a top 3 P4P and #1 by many. So what we can agree on is that he was on top of his game. Either in his prime or really close to it.Comment

Highly doubt that he makes more money on his own unless he fights GGG but then again, DAZN is gonna **** Clenelo for all his earnings if he breaks his contract.

By DAZN yeah. But they can earn more money in different ways. Like Sponsors. And GB can throw some money at him too. So he doesn’t make the same amount by fighting a Rolls than he would by fighting a Canelo. Why do you think every middleweight in the division acts like there’s only one other MW(canelo).Comment

Sure he was ranked that high, but as someone who has watched enough of his fights, he was clearly starting a decline in 2016. Hopkins was taking notice of it against Brook. Whether it was because he was only fighting twice a year, he physically didn't look like he did previous years. Like I said, he could still perform at a high level because he was so much better than non-elite fighters, but at the highest level, I don't think his body was quite there. He doesn't move the same as he used to, his punches are slower etc. That's not so much the opponent as it is really a 35+ year old guy moving how most guys do when they get to that age. Abel really did him a disservice by not preserving his body like he should. He should have had a nutritionist years ago. There’s no way of really telling when someone is in their prime. Not true it's also why DAZN has NEVER confirmed the actual amount of GGG's contract or the number of fights that has real guaranteed money with it and GGG has never confirmed it either. On the day of the press conference signing GGG was asked and flat out said he doesn't even know if he will fight 6 more times. Neither side has even stated how much guaranteed money his contract states. Media has been running with the it's a 6 fight deal for 100M but DAZN didn't say that or anyone else on the record. Mike Copinger who has been right on the money reporting details of the negotiations stated his deal with DAZN promises low 8 figures his first fight with language to in it to jump up to 20M+ if he fights Canelo. He can make up to 100M if he fights Canelo if he doesn't he makes considerably less and those back end fights likely have no real money associated to them which is why GGG hasn't said he's fighting 6 more times. Meanwhile DAZN confirmed out their own mouth Canelo's deal was for 11 fights 365M his contract is REAL money they have to pay him at minimum over 30M regardless who he fights. Nothing in Canelo's contract is tied to fighting GGG because GGG wasn't even on DAZN at the time and there was no guarantee GGG would later sign to the DAZN.
Meanwhile GGG's contract is tied to Canelo and has language in it saying he gets this much for other fights and this much ONLY IF he fights Canelo. That's why GGG out there beggingLast edited by bigdunny1; 07-18-2019, 12:44 PM.Comment

This right here ^what is wrong with you Golovkin fans ? ..... what fkn idiots !!
when Golovkin ran off to Monaco to fight a total scrub, rather than face an ex-champ who had clearly faded in a showcase opportunity on HBO..... IT WAS CLEARLY OBVIOUS WHAT HE SHOULD HAVE DONE
when Golovkin stated that Lara was "irrelevant, and not a draw"..... but then quickly ran off to fight Willie Monroe..... IT WAS CLEARLY OBVIOUS WHAT HE SHOULD HAVE DONE
when Golovkin totally refused to negotiate on weight with a 153lb superstar, despite being more than happy to defend his title against a NO-HOPER at catchweight..... IT WAS CLEARLY OBVIOUS WHAT HE SHOULD HAVE DONE
when Golovkin desperately needed an opponent..... and BJS was walking around with his "dream", offering to fight Golovkin in June..... but G selected Vanes LMAO..... IT WAS CLEARLY OBVIOUS WHAT HE SHOULD HAVE DONE..... THAT WAS AN ABSOLUTE NO-BRAINER YOU MORONS
When Golovkin selected a shocking "comeback" opponent in Steve Rolls, despite insisting that he won the rematch LMAO..... and despite knowing that Canelo stated he will not offer Golovkin a trilogy unless G wins a title..... IT WAS CLEARLY OBVIOUS WHAT GOLOVKIN SHOULD HAVE DONE..... YOU HOPELESS EXCUSE-MAKING MORONS LMAO
you are LITERALLY blaming Canelo, because Slothkin is unwilling to face a threat
the fact that Golovkin has NEVER taken those kind of fights..... and the fact that Golovkin fans have never expected him to take those kind of fights..... leads me to conclusion that Golovkin is not confident that he can beat those guys, and neither are his fans
Golovkin fans are dog-shlt, they are toxic for this sportComment
