Comments Thread For: Abel Sanchez: I Thought Fury Beat Wilder and Will Beat Him Again

BIG BEAR, CALIF. - World class trainer Abel Sanchez is very impressed with lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury. The former WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO kingpin used Sanchez's gym in Big Bear last year when he trained for his December showdown against Deontay Wilder.

Simple math Wilder won 2 10-8 rounds. If your charitable or wilder fan biased 2 - 10-9 round. Fury won 8 - 10-9 rounds. Fury 114— Wilder 112

I had Fury winning too but the first 4 or 5 rounds were close.

I don't particularly like either fighter, but definitely had Fury winning on my card. Wilder had two 10-8 rounds, and I could see an argument to give him one more 10-9 round (think it was round 5 off the top of my head) but that's about it. The math adds up in Fury's favour any way it's looked at.

I had Fury winning but it wasn't as wide as people make out.

There were a lot of rounds where there wasn't much in it. Fury's feinting/showboating/posturing and raising his hands after the bell without doing much created the illusion that he was dominating when it was a dominant performance.

Abel also said Canelo beat GGG so I don't really take his insights very seriously. Sounds more like he's adding some butter in case when Fury loses he starts looking for a new trainer. Abel trying to get himself some of those Heavyweights dollars.

I originally thought Wilder would beat an inactive Fury. I even put on money on Wilder. But when the fight happened I clearly saw Fury win. At best Wilder could argue for a 114-112 but Fury would still win with that score cards.

The only reason some people think fury won is because he didn’t get knocked out ....fury can’t get much better but wilder can
