Calzaghe is a talented fighter, i have no disagreement about that.

In the round 12 clip that you showed Cal was loading up a bit more and not slapping as much, but the slaps were still evedent.

It was early in the fight where the slapping/cuffing caused Lacy problems. Did it cause the gash over his eye, I believe so.

See, when you fight a guy who is slapping like that and at the rate that he was it will throw you out of your rythme. I believe thats what happened to Lacy for a good part of the fight.

I have no doubt that with out the slapping that Calzaghe still would have beaten lacy. But you can not deny that he slaps.

Make no mistake, the vast majority of his shots against Lacy were slaps.

He cuffs with the palm side of the glove, a very dirty tactict in the ring. If the ref allows it then its all good though.

Remember, slapping is a foul. You just dont have to normaly warn the pros, it usually will be directed toward the amatuers.
