Rewatch the lacy fight again. When Lacy would get to the inside with Joe he would just slap with each hand so vigorously, not turning any of the shots over.

Joe is a talented fighter, I have no doubts about that. But he does slap.

You're right, he doesn't throw punches, he sort of flaps his arms landing punches, but I'm talking about the way he lands, they do actually land with his knuckles, which is why I think he always damages his wrists, because of the way he lands his punches.

there is a difference between slapping and what calzaghe did against lacy. in the fight with lacy he fought alot like mayweathe vs corrales as he didnt turn his punches over all of the way. when you do this you can still generate alot of power but your chin is not protected as well . and puching like that on the inside is good becuase you can protect yourself better but from the outside you can get countered

When you are the one getting cuffed and slapped it certainly matters.

Joe is able to keep his guys on the defense with his slapping. There is no way that if Joe was throwing punches instead of slapping with them that he gets off as many shots in such a short span of time. This keeps guys on the defense.

Slapping is not legal in boxing, amatuer or pro. Joes a slapper!
