The Wilder/Ruiz rematch was announced by the end of May. So King Kong has had an ample amount of time to get in shape for this fight.

This postponement is very calculated. I believe that Al Haymon wants an Undisputed Heavyweight championship bout between his two fighters; Deontay Wilder and Andy Ruiz, Jr.

It's just like that the old adage goes; "He who controls the Heavyweight champion controls all of boxing".

In the event, that Andy defeats AJ and Wilder defeats Ortiz. I guarantee and bet you that Wilder vs Ruiz will be next.

This is like a heavyweight tournament going on here. Team Wilder does not want to commit too soon pending the Joshua vs Ruiz rematch.

It's obvious, that there has been a shake up in the Wilder's camp. They appear to be doing a U-turn on the Tyson Fury rematch in favor of an undisputed bout with Andy Ruiz; Which was a fight that they wanted all along.

They only took the Fury bout as a consolation prize to boxing fans and on the rebound because they couldn't get the man they wanted all along in the ring Anthony Joshua. He held the majority of the Heavyweight titles at the time.

So, therefore, I don't believe for one second that they would want to pass up this opportunity of a lifetime in order to do so.

It wouldn't matter a Ruiz vs Wilder isn't possible until 2020 so the notion Haymon is stalling for Ruiz is ridiculous .

Will you finally admit Wilder is ducking Joshua when he runs away from the fight if Joshua is holding the belts is a better question since you seem to admit they have energy for Ruiz all of a sudden and belts matter again ?

Wilder is easy to control so he will do what Haymon tells him but is Ruiz happy with unification? Maybe he wants few easy fights first, you never know with boxers. Ruiz coming from hard fight might have different plan than jump into that straight again.

After Ortiz, they go right into the Ruiz fight, sometime in 2020. Now will you finally admit that Wilder had agreed to all of AJ's terms and conditions back in 2018 for undisputed bout between the two?

Like the $15mil flat fee, no guarantee, no percentage and no double rematch clause and in addition, fighting him on his home soil but yet Joshua still somehow seemed to duck and avoid Wilder anyway why? It's because he really didn't want the fight.

The fight was never over money in the first place. It was all about taking AJ belts and now he has a legitimate chance of doing just that, if only Andy Ruiz can replicate, the same results he had against Anthony Joshua at MSG on June 1st.

You make a very good point. Ruiz is his own man who has the right to lead with every need. However, if Haymon is willing to offer him the amount of money he wants and is seeking then the fight won't be hard to make at all. Especially since both Wilder and Ruiz are fighting under the same PBC promotional banner.

                      - Thurman-Pacquiao in July (Vegas)
                      - SpenceJr-Porter in September (LA)
                      - Wilder-Ortiz 2 in November (NYC)

A month off of PPV between each fight, no longer having to compete against Canelo in September, and still more than enough name talent (Mikey, Danny, Leo Santa Cruz, 154lb fights, etc) to more than fill up the summer/fall dates on Showtime and FOX.

Looks like things worked out pretty well.
