I further don’t need to “steal valor.” My valor, honor, duty, commitment and esprit de Corps is well in tact and live through the credo “Semper Fidelis.” But if you’re looking to render respect you can thank “tools” like us and those before me, such as those that made up the “greatest generation” that have saved the world many times over from every despot and 3rd world dictator since the birth of our wonderful nation. However, you and I agree on one point. I should have been allowed to drink the moment I raised my right hand and took the oath to defend and protect the Constitution.

Let me put it to you straight bud. You barely served, you probably have never seen combat or very little of it. You are not one of those people who was an actual hero. The army you serve has been corrupted into being used as an international political tool of terror. Unless you're a true war hero I couldn't give a crap about your exploits. The current US army is a joke anyway, robots and drones are better at your jobs than you are. My country owes you nothing seeing as it was neutral and the Brits protected us from attack. America is a good country and I'm proud to have been born there luckily but its army is the least venerable thing about it since just about the end of the second world war. No need to impress me by saying semper fi either, no one cares. It isn't a point of pride. Its a job, its like a cop asking for credit for being a cop. There's a reason no one hails them as if they were special.

My grandfather served in Vietnam and he knows it was a sham of a war. Ask your fellow vets how proud they were of their achievements in helping the world there.

I don’t want your respect and never sought it. Not a benefactor? The all volunteer military makes it possible for you to come here and espouse your views. And FYI being a Marine isn’t “a job” like that of a cop. There’s a reason why there are so few. The title isn’t just bestowed upon you. You earn every ounce of that title.

I didn’t come here to gauge the merits of Vietnam. However you may wish to read up on the history of the military and its benefits it has bestowed upon this country. See my Grandfather was a Marine in WWII and because of them we exist pure and simple. If not for them we’d either not be here or be speaking German or Japanese. So yes, instead of spouting off about your obvious disrespect for military members (again I’m not looking for yours) walk up to one and thank them for defending your right to speak.
