Rest In Peace, “Sweet Pea.” One of the all-time great boxers. So much fun to watch.

Man what a shock. I've been a fan of his for so long now. His defense was one of a kind.

incredibly talented and determined individual. in spite of the style and the "look" he was actually quite the tough guy in there. i know what i'm up to tonight, gonna get the highest quality feed i can find and watch some whitaker fights.

                  RIP champ
holy guacmole is 55 young. especially when you're a legend and you've earned a life of peace and respect for your accomplishments. one of the best to ever put on boxing gloves, top 3 defensive fighters of all time. **** that's sad.

Pernell was not one of my favorite fighters of that era, but I respected his outstanding defensive skills and all around boxing savvy and he is an all time great. RIP Sweet Pea Whitaker.
