Would Pac beating Thurman/Spence/Crawford rank him above Money?

no
Mayweather is WAY ahead of Pacquiao, no matter what the usual casuals/fanboys think
what it boils down to, are three factors.....
1) the ONLY real criteria when it comes to ATG consideration..... and this is 70% of the decision, so pretty much decides it
WHO did you beat, with consideration given to when/how
that is the ONLY question
well, there are THREE opponents on Mayweathers resume who are better wins than anybody on Pacquiao's resume
Pac already beat Thurman..... who honestly, is not that good.....
Spence/Crawford are only two fighters, not three..... and neither of them rank higher than the three BETTER wins on Mayweather's resume
so, no..... and the argument pretty much dies there
2) body of work..... which likely makes up 20% of the decision
Mayweather is currently WAY ahead of Pacquiao..... he beat like 25 champions, most of them consecutively..... and he never lost a fight
but Crawford/Spence would definitely close that gap right up
that is a tough call, but I doubt it..... and body of work would never out-shine the THREE HUGE wins on Mayweather's resume who are better than anybody on Pacquiao's resume
3) there is a small consideration given to losses..... who beat you, but more importantly, when/how
that is game over for Pacquiao, right there
no way can numerous knockout losses be forgotten or over-looked

A pretty good 5 piece
most of them are better than anybody on Pac's resume
but, they are not Mayweather's THREE best wins..... all of whom are better than anybody on Pac's resume
Mayweather is way ahead of Pacquiao
Pacquiao threads always bring out the nut-jobs and fanboys

It would be easy to do that and I don't know how much I would argue against it even in disagreement.
But, Manny having this success against young champions after 40 wouldnt change the fact that an old Mayweather dominated Canelo, which NO VERSION of Pacquiao would be able to beat.
It wouldn't change the fact Floyd toyed with the guy that was Pacquiao’s greatest career rival, Juan Manuel Marquez.
And, it wouldn't change the fact that Floyd easily beat Manny head to head, in fact ran a clinic on a younger version of the Pacquiao having that success.
So yeah, props to Pac if he can do it.
Yes it will move the needle.
No, it will not be enough to move him higher than Floyd.

- irrelevant non top ten ranked past prime berto
- featherweight guerrero who got pwned soon after by thurman.
- #7 ranked maidana who beat an overrated broner who didn't belong at welterweight. maidana was previously embarrassed by alexander who quit against bradley.
- fat out of shape pee drinking pre roids marquez. bradley beat the superior hulk roided marquez
- hatton who didn't belong at welterweight. ranked lower p4p than bradley. far less skillful than bradley.
- old mosley coming off more than 1 year lay off
- judah coming off a loss
- baldomir
- old past prime de la hoya
- 21 year old green badly drained canelo
- past prime punching bag gatti
- non champ, non top ten ranked welterweight sharmba mitchell
- non champ bruseles
- non champ corley
- non top ten p4p castillo
- corrales who was struggling to make 130 (weight drained) and was only #5 p4p compared to bradley who was #3 p4p.
etc. etc. etc. etc.

Pac s body of work is far greater than floyds. If Kirkland laing beat sugar ray leanored as well as his win over Duran he still wouldn't be better than pac even if his 2 best wins were better than pacs.
RJJ has been koed and I've no doubt he'll go down in history as greater than unbeaten floyd/Calzaghe one of my favourite boxersLast edited by hugh grant; 05-29-2021, 02:23 PM.
