    Hagler-Seales draw... weirdest scoring ever?

Ray Seales was ringside for the showtime fight tonight and it was brought up that he held Marvin Hagler to a draw. So I went on boxrec to check the fight out.

    The scores listed:

    99-99, 99-99, 98-96 (I believe for Seales but I might be wrong)

If I’m not mistaken, that means two judges scored 8 of the 10 rounds even and gave 1 round each to both fighters. The third judge scored 7 rounds even, 2 for Seales and 1 for Hagler.

I can’t imagine there’s weirder scorecards out there than those three but I would love to here nominations.

could have been 4-4-2 on two of the cards...that would be less strange. I don't know, I don't give tie rounds.

      Wouldn’t 4-4-2 come out to 96-96?

        Yup. lol

Was it ten point must? I know back then judging was done based on athletic commission. California had a weird 5-3-1 scoring system for a while.

Maybe it wasn’t a 10 point must system but I have a feeling it was. There were 10 rounds and both got to 99. I don’t know enough about other scoring options to comment though lol.

You should make these threads in the history section. They're good threads and all, just not NSB stuff.

If the round is really really close do you just give it to the PBC fighter to make it fair?

Either prove that I'm American and prove that I'm part of this LDBC that you're so obsessed with, or stop following me around thread to thread. It's sad.

Who said anything about you being American or part of the LDBC? I asked you what you do when a round is really really close, do you just give it to the PBC fighter to be fair? If its really too close to split how do you make your decision?
