  • Will Jeff Horn amount to much in boxing?

We all know that Jeff has a win over Pacquiao, and lost against Bud. Some would argue that Jeff can be considered among the greats of this new boxing era. Do you think Jeff Horn will amount to a lot in the sport? If we consider the welterweight division, it looks difficult that he will go far there.

No. Jeff Horn was an anomilie. He was supposed to be an easy cash pick up but nobody took into account a bit of grit aided by hometown advantage. He did ok vs Pac through some questionable tactics but without that hometown advantage he doesn't get far. He wants too much money to travel because he can make a ton domestically and nobody wants the same risky deal down under. That's why his phone isn't ringing.

What we NEED to consider is that Horn only lost to Crawford, who never really hurt him and had him fall victim to a trigger ref, then had Crawford duck a rematch. Proceeded to put legendary fighter Anthony Mundine to sleep.

Among the greats of the era? Well, if you use Manny Pacquiao as the measuring stick, who's beat Manny in the current era?

      Floyd Mayweather - Future HOF'er
      Tim Bradley - Future HOF'er
      Erik Morales - HOF'er
      Jeff Horn

A case can be made for Horn to be a future HOF'er with who's he beaten. Problem is fighters are ducking him because of his rough style. Nobody's sure they can beat the guy even despite the Crawford loss, because they saw that the Crawford loss had an asterisk.

I still want to see Horn in there against guys like Chino, Porter, etc.

I think he's overachieved already. He's probably been a lock for the Australian boxing HOF since the day of the Manny W. If he gets one more notable win he'll probably make the legit boxing HOF with their low entry qualifications. He'll be like this era's Ken Norton who's HOF qualifications live & die with his 1 Ali W (I'd argue he mighta coulda gotten the decision in all 3 fights so thats probably part of it to, but officially the only W on his record thats HOFish is the Ali W).

Right, you know, speaking of Horn's win over Pac, I think that was one of the most dirtiest performances I have ever seen from a fighter. Horn did horrible in that fight and I think it was an unfair win. But yeah, I don't see Horn getting far in the sport man.

Anybody saying he is great in any way needs to find a new sport. He is mediocre. Pacquiao beat him by a mile in spite of him being allowed to fight dirty as hell. Pac got badly robbed and won at least 10 of the 12 rounds. Crawford destroyed him and he hardly landed a punch. Unless some champion is ****** enough to fight him in his back yard he will never be a champion again. He is just an average fighter and a mauling, wrestling, holding and hitting dirty fighter.

He's good but really does not have anything like elite talent. I'd say something similar about Munguia I guess. They get a little extra mileage out of being bigger than most of the guys they face too.

Your love and devotion of Horn is just ******. You have him so overrated it's pathetic. How anybody could like this dirty fighting boxer is a mystery. Pacquiao beat him by a mile and Crawford made a complete joke out of him. The ref did the right thing stopping the fight. Horn was completely and hopelessly outclassed and taking a bad beating. You may be Horn's only American fan. Your hero can't fight much and will never be a champion again. His home country win over Pac and his KO over washed up Mundine will be his only claims to fame. You keep pushing for a rematch with Pacquiao but Horn is an eye sore to watch and brings in no money and does not deserve a high paying rematch for getting the robbery win and fighting such a dirty fight.

                    amount to anything?

I think any fighter that picks up a world title at some stage has ticked a very big box in this sport.
