I’ve seen a few Robinson fights and read his reviews. I don’t doubt he could win, but I find it harder to comment on fighters so far removed from my own witness. I do know Floyd is usually all wrong for people. Still I’m sure maybe not for someone. For sum reason I’d want him to fight Hawk time Aaron Pryor.
Hearns would be nightmare for Floyd stylistically and physically IMO. To beat Hearns you had be aggressive, come forward and get inside. His jab was excellent, his power was frightening and his boxing ability was underrated, he was soundly outboxing Ray Leonard for 10+ rounds until Dundee implored Leonard to come forward and be more aggressive, I genuinely don’t believe Floyd could’ve dealt with those problems Leonard was facing. I actually think Floyd is a better fighter to Hearns but styles make fights and Hearns was genetic freak at 147.

SRL vs Floyd is a toss up, both are superb technicians, great point about Leonard being able to steal rounds with flurries, showmanship etc, I always felt SRL was exceptional at stealing rounds by winning the last 30 seconds or landing a combination at the bell etc. I would give Leonard the edge but it’s got SD written all over it.

I’ve never really thought about Floyd vs Pryor, interesting matchup, Pryor was a fantastic combination puncher and really would have tested Mayweather’s excellent defence, I’d probably pick Mayweather to win a close decision, I could see him coming through some tough moments though especially early on.

On a side note... I really wish Pryor vs SRL or Pryor vs Duran would have came to fruition.

Floyd was great...but what great win did he have over a good or great fighter in his prime?
Ask yourself this...did he ever fight a great fighter, in their prime, at their ideal weight in neutral conditons, or close to it? If he did, how many?

Floyd had a little better matchmaking/hype than GGG...but as far as dominance they were relatively the same imo...from what I saw anyway...similar am careers and similarly dominant pro careers.

I just try to call it like I see it based on what I see in the ring...and who/when/where etc you fight...Floyd was always the home fighter his whole career etc and getting decisions in his later days...GGG usually always the road fighter...and I have never seen him lose or even really come that close.

I don't think a 12 rd win over a formerly great fighter, not at his best weight and past prime, with other possible restrictions as well...is a better win than a dominant KO against a good fighter in their prime at their best weight...just my thoughts from watching boxing for a lot of years...also just think there is a little anti-non/US/UK/Mexico bias against GGG at times...and Floyd being American helps his hype some.

But yeah both equally great imo...all we can do is call it like we see it I suppose...I think the facts back that all up imo...I don't really give bonus points to guys just because they look a certain way...or are from a certain country...or because they beat a guy with a name...have to just try and analyze everything objectively and see where the cards fall imo

I’ve prolly haven’t seen enough Hearn fights. I just feel like he’s one of those guys that would kill it at a combine or on paper. Everyone talks about him physically but it’s the rest of the stuff that makes a great fighter that I think kept him from winning sum of those big fights. His record is better than I thought though. Ill watch sum more of him. My old man is the last word in my family when it comes to boxing, I’ll put it to him. I just think hagler v hearns was a sloppy slugfest, exciting sure, but I don’t think Hagler was ever hurt like the over selling announcers screamed. I hated it when they promoted GGG v Canelo going to be like Hagler Hearns. It was always going to be fight of the millennium part 2. As far as Pryor I just remember what he managed to do to Alexis Arguelo. Too many good fights shoulda happened. But that’s boxing.

Hearns has an excellent jab which made it nearly impossible to control range and distance against him due to his physical assets. He also followed the jab very effectively with the right hand making it very risky to try and get on the inside. His weakness was his vulnerability, he wasn’t chinny by any means but he could be hurt and usually struggled to recover. He also had slight stamina issues when fighting at a high intensity.

Pryor-Arguello I is one of my favourite ever fights, incredible back and forth contest between two HOF’ers.
