Comments Thread For: Thurman Reacts To Critics: Every Welterweight Wanted Pacquiao

WBA welterweight champion Keith Thurman is not listening to the critics, who are taking aim at his decision to defend his title against Manny Pacquiao. Back in January, Thurman snapped a two year layoff to win a much tougher than expected decision over big underdog Josesito Lopez.

"Numerous observers, and fighters, frowned at Thurman's decision to fight Pacquiao, who is 40-years-old and at the tail-end of his career"

Who the **** are these ******s? Would you not like to take an easy W on your resume against a legend, and on top of the earn Millions of dollars?

      Thurman stating the obvious:

“Every welterweight in the welterweight division wanted this fight. They can say whatever they say want to say about this fight but everybody wanted this fight. Errol Spence, Shawn Porter even Terence Crawford would take this fight. Everybody wanted this fight, as long as Manny Pacquiao still wanted to be an active fighter and he wanted to make more exciting fights for the fight fans. I just think this is one of the best match ups of the year and I definitely believe it could be one of the best fights of the year once we start trading.”

Thurman is in for a world of hurt if he thinks Pac is a mid-tier opponent.

Trading punches is 50/50 just like Duran v. Leonard 1. Touch and go is boring but Thurman has the advantage.

Everyone wanted him because he's a high reward, relatively low risk fight. In light of that some criticism is inevitable.

It may appear that way but Thurman still has the better resume than Spence and Crawford combined. He already beat D. Garcia and Porter and he has the real WBA welterweight belt so I guess he’s more deserving to get the Pac fight. The winner should fight the winner of Spence vs Porter. Forget about Crawford, he’s stuck with Arum and he doesn’t have any choice but fight in-house fights with Top Rank.

                  Team Spence big mistake

Errol only has him self to blame !!!!! He had Legend manny at his fight so he should’ve gave Mikey some rounds or even get hurt or a quick knock down . He decided to show he was going to kill MG not give him a round .considering Mikey is ten years younger same size great IQ in boxing and skills . PAC entered the ring said yeah sure why not but his team said **** no his to big for you . Maybe KT is smarter then them all and had Lopez look like a tough fight purposely looked weak so team pac picked him .

Spence is fighting a Thurman's leftover......see how it goes!
Thurman beat also a undefeated Danny Garcia in a unification fight, right after Porter....say Spence and Crawford to do the same, then we'll see who is the weakest link.
