Today's heavyweight scene is brilliant, but they need to fight

I don't think that today's heavyweights are as good as the heavyweights of the past. But we can't put Wilder in with Holyfield, or Fury in with Lewis, so it doesn't matter.

What we have in Fury, Wilder, Joshua, Whyte, Ortiz and now Ruiz, with Usyk to come, is a roster of heavyweights with massively different physical attributes and skill sets. The triangle theory will not work here and I genuinely don't believe any of them beats any other ten times out of ten, except maybe Fury against Ruiz and Usyk because of the size difference.

So I don't give a **** about who's overhyped or whatever, the important thing is that they just fight. A defeat should not be the end of the world to any of these fighters. Wilder is not a bum because he got outboxed by Fury, because he could still KO the rest of them, and he could even KO Fury in a rematch. Joshua is still a top level heavyweight even though Ruiz smashed him around the ring, because he could still beat all of them.

It's a great time for heavyweight boxing. Just ****ing fight.

Although their skill level isn't on par with the HW's of the " good ol days " ( according to most ) . I do see Alot of potentialy exciting match ups with today's HW .

What I forgot to mention is that we keep getting entertaining fights at the top end. Joshua vs Klitschko and Povetkin, Whyte against Chisora (x2) and Parker, Wilder against Fury. None have disappointed.

Joshua has only 22 fights. Joshua cant fight everyone at once and now has a rematch which doesnt matter Fury and Wilder don't want AJ. Lewis never fought Bowe those were the top 2 guys in the last stacked era. Fights haven't happened yet but will. Ortiz is wasted talent that's one guy who has about 2 years left.

I think today's heavies turned out to be wildly overrated. Wilder is all power no skill. Fury has zero power. The only one that had both power and talent just got served his first loss.
I like Usyk a lot but doubt his ability to pack a real punch at HW.

Not since the Mike Tyson/Oscar De La Hoya era have I been more excited about Boxing than for MMA... and in large part its because of the current Heavyweight division.

It was already great... Fury, Wilder, Joshua... and then Andy Ruiz broke everything wide open. Ever since then, I've been on Boxing more than MMA.
