"Do too much" ? "Do too much" what ? Brag ? Insult Brits ?
I've personally NEVER said a cross word about a Brit boxer, a fan, or a people group, and I don't "Eat big food", or drive a BIG car. I understand the value of humility, as well as unity.
If you say Cubans are the greatest boxers...then sure I'll take your word for it. If somebody else has an OPINION that THEIR country has the best boxers, then I'll respect that opinion as well. I certainly don't expect to agree with every post, but if I do reply, I expect it to be with civility, class, and decency.
What I won't do is allow myself to get offended or "wounded", or jaded, because of what a few people publish, on a public social media platform, about a sport.
I don't know how old you are, but you have to realize that the anonymous nature of the internet appears to often allow a 'lesser version' of our best self, to be presented. American, British, Mexican, or Chinese, this site does not necessarily reflect each society as a whole. There are flawed people in every demographic around the world.
Did you read my first post, or rather, read it for comprehension ? I'm simply stating a very basic principle that, "two wrongs don't make a right".
You're wounded because of the behavior of a few Americans, so you feel "justified" in your reaction. I get that.
You know the majority of the content here is just trash-talk and bravado, right ? My guess is 80%-90% of the talk on here would not happen IRL, face to face. It's the product of anonymity and the human condition.
There's something called Nationalism, something called tribalism, something called Fandom, and something called the Internet. Social media breeds a lot of negativity, unfortunately, but it could just as easily foster unity, good will, and charity. It comes down to personal choices.
That's all I'm saying. No matter how "justified" we may feel, I'm suggesting we all give pause and consider how respect, forbearance, empathy, and edification towards one another, even in debate and disagreement, can promote unity.
I love my country. I know it's flawed like any other society on earth. Mocking, belittling, or casting aspersions on other nations does absolutely NOTHING to build up my own. The same applies on an individual level.
I can inwardly believe I'm the best, while outwardly agreeing that YOU are the best, in order to build you up and promote unity. Or I can minimize what we disagree upon and seek out those things which we have in common. For reasons I have not entirely accepted, most people seem to place very little value on relationships via social media.
NewsFlash: People are basically the same across the globe. Sure we have different cultures, beliefs, and social structures, but we have enough common ground to relate brotherly or neighborly. Boxing or sports, is a "common ground" on which to relate.
It is not necessary to discredit another in order to support our own. The greatest cigars might be Cuban, but I'm still buying American, ya know what I mean ? I'm not saying YOU have to like American and I support your right to like whatever cigar you choose.
Just try and maintain some perspective, and don't allow a few azzholes to stink up the entire house. If you show your backside too, that accomplishes nothing except adding to the stench. Ya copy ?

Yes, I understand that you're different. However, it doesn't negate the fact that a lot of you Americans do too much for a country that has no ORIGINAL IDEA. Everything American was copied/stolen/borrowed from other cultures. "Eat big food" = eat extremely large portion of chemically/organically modified food that made most Americans obese and unhealthy.
"Drive big cars" = drive huge/worthless fuel guzzling cars that have no real value. European cars are smaller, drive better and are more expensive.
In essence, I'm just saying, doing oversized things that make you the best. You're just big for nothing with no real value, lol.
Stay humble. Cuba produces that best boxers, hence they have won more gold medals in boxing at the olympics than any other country in the last 4-5 decades. And the home of boxing is GREAT BRITAIN. Britannia rules!Comment

Why do Americans eat so much, tho? Too much food is unhealthy. The last time I was in Miami, I ordered hot dog and burger and they brought me huge hot dog and burger with a bucket full of melted cheese and mayo, lol.Comment
