  • Comments Thread For: Luke Campbell Confident: I Can Beat Lomachenko By Being Me!

Olympic gold medal winner Luke Campbell (20-2, 16 KOs) is very confident in his ability to defeat one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the sport, Vasyl Lomachenko (13-1, 10 KOs). The WBA, WBC, WBO lightweight titles will be at stake when Campbell and Lomachenko collide on August 31 at London's O2 Arena.

I like Cambells classical boxing style, Lomachenko has problems with tall fighters, but Cambell has to throw hard jabs and straight punches all night to keep the Ukrainian away from him?

Campbell is a solid guy with a few decent wins but Linares is the only fighter with elite skills he's fought & got smacked around all night & somehow almost pulled a heist with that SD. Doesn't seem to have the kind of power his record indicates. Loma is gonna bury him on his home soil & it shouldn't be a contest.

"I can win by being me" exactly what every other fighter has said who fought Lomo.

It's the same thing with Wilder. They think "yes he has a huge punch but maybe he hasn't fought a real boxer yet - like me. I'm confident I'll win by being me"

If you want to win - act like it - get real. Do something special

Some of the best new blood in boxing is around 130-135. Like to see Loma get all straps then defend against a few of these guts.

What is the point of this fight? That division is dead. Move up

Technically I cannot really criticize Luke Campbell. 'He seems to be a well rounded fighter'.

The way in which Lomachenko pressures his opponents? Campbell has no choice but to prepare for a war. If he does not shut down and stop Lomachenko in his tracks with a solid jab 'Then he has to go to war'.

And within that situation, Campbell has decent hand speed and shot selection so 'It will be a good fight'. Lomachenko in some ways reminds me of Ricky Hatton, the way he can move forward or side ways faster than anyone can move backwards or side ways 'Forced his opponents 99.9% of the time into a guerrilla type warfare' even Floyd Mayweather had zero choice, but to adapt and fight on the inside.

Loma stops fighters with an accumulation of punches, if you can't keep him honest with solid punches he's gonna win, Linares run out of gas, this is why Cambell has to be ultra aggressive in the first three rounds
