Beterbiev is a beast. Kova will avoid him for a more lucrative fight with Canelo if he goes through Yarde.

As long as 50-50 fights are being made at 175, I don't care that much about who fights who - I just want to see fights.

The LHW division has been quiet for a while now and given the amount of talent in the division, there ought to be a hell of a lot more.

I doubt Kovalev will do anything other than what most fighters do nowadays - take the fight that offers the lowest risk for the highest reward, which becomes more prominent as a fighter enters their mid to late thirties.

Beterbiev is no spring chicken and is probably trying to build up pressure and interest in a fight that would probably do decent numbers.

But Kovalev is the one holding the cards, despite being a little older, as he has better brand recognition, and at the moment he has options.

A fight with Yarde would likely do well, as it would be the first real test for the much hyped up and comer from the U.K along with the fact that Sergiy has been hot and cold in recent years, meaning it's very likely it could turn out to be a real barnburner.

He could also choose to cash out if the Canelo rumours are true; but GBP's way of doing business will likely mean they will want to see how Kovalev fairs against Yarde, although I could be wrong as Canelo will likely want a belt for his troubles.

I just want to see some quality fights darn it!

Butterbiev had his shot a few years back, convinient that he starts shouting Kovalevs name now it's being mention by Canelo with a backup hometown show with Yarde already in the works. Fall back bruv.

I pick beterbiev to beat Kovalev any day. I've been saying for ages that Kovalev wouldn't be able to withstand bievs inside game & I predict a ko by beterbiev for that alone & because you never know if your getting Foldalev or Kovalev, depends which shows up as well

One, Yarde is no gauranteed victory. Two, Beterbeiv will have to close the distance on Kovalev and he may well get kod trying to do that.

It's true that Beterbiev ducked Kova years ago...

... But right now, Kova is way past his prime and I don't think he is still able to outbox and keep Beterbiev out of him...

Therefore: Kova should not fight Beterbiev...

At some point, don't these 175 champs have to start fighting each other? Oleksandr Gvozdyk, Dmitry Bivol, and Beterbiev really need the big money they would get from facing each other, and losses in big fights have shown to actually raise your profile. The division does not a provide a huge platform in of itself, they truly need each other to get the kind of money fights everyone wants.

If Kovalev does not get the cash cow of an Alvarez fight (I am skeptical, but I am often wrong on these things), then he rally cannot afford to sit around. He is WAY closer to the end of his career then to the prime of it. This guy needs to get some big money fights soon. If he beats Yarde, it is either the spectacle of Alvarez or he kind of needs one of these other champs. He is not this invincible monster anymore. He is the biggest name, but that won't last past another upset loss.

I want to see this fight but mandatories are what they are and it's a part of boxing.

If someone call you "noodles" you kinda have to fight them.

Forget a prize fight, you meet them in the parking lot.
