It's impossible for a mandatory to be promised to get the winner of a fight. It isn't illegal to vacate the title, no deal could force you to fight a mandatory (unless you want to keep the belt). The most likely scenario is that if Canelo beats Kovalev he vacates the title and Yarde fights the next highest ranked fighter.

In professional boxing, the light heavyweight division is above 168 pounds (76 kg) and up to 175 pounds (79 kg). Learn the game before you spout off nonsense!Comment

Exactly my point! But there's still too many idiots on here who would say Canelo is ducking Yarde....
WTF are these idiots smoking??Comment

Exactly my point! Canelo has no intentions of staying at light heavyweight.Canelo would not duck anyone but why would he fight Yarde if he beats Kovalev? He is not a natural light heavyweight. Does anyone believe that he will stay as a light heavyweight for the rest of his career? There are plenty of big fights at 160 and 168. I could be wrong but if he beats Kovalev he will most likey drop back down in weight.
But why would he fight Yarde if he beats Kovalev??? He's a nobody!
But idiots will say he's ducking Yarde now.....
Just proves they are a bunch of morons!Comment

A 10lb rehydration clause the morning of the fight... if you have problems staying under 10 the next morning you should probably move tf up.Comment

Ok. I see a mention of a possibility of a catchweight, but nothing concrete and nothing about 170 lbs.Comment
