From what I read, MTK effectively offered Flanagan something VIP could not, and Flanagan originally wanted to keep Wood on board but Wood was not prepared to share the role or play second fiddle to MTK. Flanagan suggests they split quite amicably but I did see a statement from Steve saying he was hurt and disappointed.

Dont really hear anything that suggests hes lying, saying he could have caused a situation if he wanted to. I think hes just dissappointed in the career path hes chosen, when he had immediate big fights lined up for him. Obviously Warrens seen something, hes pretty damn good at letting guys go when theyve run their course.

Nice one mate, interesting to hear Steve’s side of things.
Wood always seems a pretty stand up guy, I wonder who the opponent would have been for July 6th. Steve took him from a kid who’d maybe win a British title and turned him into a world champion, he’s understandably gutted tbf.

I was all for Flanagan-Crolla when they were both title holders at 135. It’s probably in the same category as Khan-Brook now...

Twitter rumours were saying it was Selby. Also Burns recently was complaining about losing out on a big fight in the UK, aswell as one in the US. I'd say one of those 2.

Burns would’ve been my guess tbf, I’m not convinced with Selby at 135, I think he should campaign at 130. Him facing Broner is lunacy IMO.
