Posturing is boxing negotiations in a nutshell. One side telling an opponent they are only worth so much money. Then they will sell the fight as being huge and tell everyone they expect huge numbers in revenue. If the fights a big success and they ended up with a tiny piece of the pie, then the opponent and his team look bad. How many times can this happen before people decide maybe we should negotiate and hold out for a better deal? Nobody is giving their best deal on the first offer. Canelo can move on. But paying another guy less could still generate way less money. It’s not like fans get a discount if Nelos opponent is making $2mil instead of $6mil? I hear ya Kovalev is risking the paycheck, but he’s not sum box car Willy. The point is it’s up to Kovalev. It didn’t work out for AJ not paying Wilder. It’s all objective of course. It’s not up to us, even though it should be.

Kovalev does not have a deal with DAZN... he did not get a $6 mil offer from GBP... Nor did he get an offer from DAZN.
It is GBP that made the offer.
There is no back end unless it is off DAZN and goes PPV and we know that is not going to happen unless ESPN wants to take it themselves... OR DAZN comes in and offers him money.
And of course... Yarde needs to get paid off, Arum needs to get paid off (he has options on Kovalev), ESPN needs to get paid off.
ALL of that would be coming out of Kovalev's purse... hence why they (DAZN) and (GBP) need to offer serious money....
Which all goes back to... fake offer... likely not happening if we think logically.Comment

$2.5 was the purse for the fight but Jacobs got $10 mil from DAZN as part of his exclusive contract. His total package was $12.5 and he was going to get $10 even if he thought a bum.
