I bet what Breadman is referring to is Joshua not fighting tall and using his reach advantage from the outside. The thing is though, he's not a Klitschko or Lewis type of fighter. I mean he is big, but Joshua needs to be able to push the opponent back to have success. So sure, the jab is going to be important but not as easy as saying just jab and right hand your way to a win. Not his style and not sure he can develop it in one camp with the same trainers.
yeah i dont think he has the brain to be a lewis type

he seems to get caught in the headlights when he gets tagged where he needs to remain composed

its gonna be fun watching how he comes out the gates this time

Joshua's problem, and I have said this long before his loss and stated it as a reason to all my boxing fan friends as to why Deontay Wilder would knock him out very easily, is that his legs are very slow, he doesn't really move to the side and if you try to force him back, he really looks uncomfortable.

Wilder would have smashed him out as soon as he went at Joshua. Ruiz went in, ducked Joshua's predictable swings and fired as many shots as possible at the stiff robot. His body movement is also very rigid. He beat Wlad, great win, but an ageing, inactive and coming off a loss Wlad, also Wlad's skill set don't really fire against Joshua's weaknesses, like Ruiz did, like Wilder's would, like Fury's would.

I don't believe Joshua can beat Ruiz, a slight punchers chance, but that's it, and fighting tall, he's still rigid, Ruiz will charge him down and land many quick fire punches. It will be a very similar fight, but I think Ruiz does not hit the floor this time and wins inside 4.

he needs to lay off the juice and lose some useless muscle mass, but that would impact his marketing so I don't think Hearn will agree with that. Best bet is for slick Eddie to pay off the ref and have him hold Joshua's hand to maintain the distance like the ref in the Parker fight.

I see what Bread's doing here. It would be nice to see him help AJ out.

what he is doing is atrocious - every time he goes under he skips his feet about and is not in position for the next move, whatever it may be. very sloppy. i noticed him doing similarly every time on the pads with his coach. no wonder he was so easy to counter with intense combinations.

Joshua could win an easy UD so sure its easy to say use your jab stay away.

The reality is he got the first knock down and didn't break Ruiz down more, nothing more to really see.

Joshua will really dig into Ruiz and carve him down in the rematch,it will only go the distance if Ruiz stands up to the shots again which will either be put together more with more focus or Joshua will pick his spots in length and go for the UD if it gets near the 12 ?

Joshua ultimately lost bc he as usual had poor sparring and decided to bring Joey D in the final week....the week he shouldn't be sparring. In short Joshua fought two fights....Joey D and Ruiz.

Expect a more live body next time, but if he corrects this sparring problem which he should've done awhile ago and has been ongoing since Wlad…..don't expect this to be close at all.

Klitschko wasn't a Klitschko type fighter either. He had to become one to offset his jaw.
