Makes sense honestly, Munguia isn’t really a light middle anyway and mw is probably the weight he belongs at for now. That said I think his skills are going to be found wanting against an opponent he can’t physically dominate and as such Canelo will probably expose him.

I don't think all the money in the world is worth what Canelo will do to this kid. He shouldn't even be an afterthought as an opponent with the struggles he's had with much lesser guys with the size advantage he's enjoyed up to this point. He wasn't ready when he first came around for GGG & he still isn't close to being ready now.

Let's be clear Munguia has no business in there with Canelo or GGG he will be slaughtered and hurt bad. He's strong and hits hard but his defense is terrible and he gets hit too often. He's coming off 2 shaky performances. Jumping up to 160 isn't a bad idea but fighting either out the gate could ruin his career.

Hopefully this is like past fights where they make a offer to the real opponent and he doesn't want to sign trying to squeeze more money so what does Oscar do makes a offer to lesser guy to put pressure it gets out to the media to get the real fight done. He's done this in the past throwing Lemieux's name out there, did it with Jacobs too. I think Kovalev is the real fight they want and Munguia is the bait to tell them if you price yourself out someone else can get that fight.
