Good point to note there about fights being "officially announced" weeks, sometimes months, after all parties concerned knew it was on.

Yeah, that was really interesting. The only way to beat that promoter trick is to have year-round VADA testing for a division champ plus anyone announced as his mandatory. Or require at least 3 months of testing for both fighters before any title fight.

The trainer was saying they wanted the winner of Harrison vs Charlo for the Ring belt, but... Williams and Hurd are #1 and #2 right now in the Ring rankings.

So the rematch will already be for the Ring belt, as well as the lineal title according to TBRB. Unified WBA/IBF/IBO/Ring/lineal champion as long as we don't get a draw or no contest in Williams vs Hurd 2.

Prime example. Although anything can happen during negotiations, once a boxig organization sanctions a title fight, both fighters should be subject to testing by VADA. This shouldn't be postponed until the official announcement of the fight.
