Here we go again. I know the thread is really about Callum and BJS, but I don't know how you talk about the SMW Division without bringing up David Benavidez.
I don't know how definite the Sept 28th bout with Dirrell is, but if Benavidez gets by Dirrell he's a commodity for any of these guys.
I have a feeling they're all waiting to see how he looks against Dirrell, before they speak his name out their mouths.

      It's a 50/50 offer for a unification. Take it!

I still have not seen enough of Callum Smith to gauge how good he really is.
BJS on the other hand is talented and when motivated he gives anyone problems.

This fight would be a good test for Callum to really gauge his quality.

          he's a monster

talk about Smith being the best SMW is just talk, there are plenty of questions at 168..... it is a young division

Plant is at least, a very good fighter..... Saunders is excellent..... punters are sleeping on those guys as well

Mull for what? Saunders sounds like the ideal opponent for Smith at this point. Who else is there.

Im really high on Smith but I want to see him with a real threat or somebody with a contrasting style.

Agreed on all points. As much as BJS seems to be a prick, I can't deny the talent.
Looking forward to the return of David Benavidez.

BJS was rocked against Isufi, who I could beat, Smith knocks him into tomorrow

Smith should take this fight. The Groves win was nice but he needs a meaningful UK fight like this for his popularity because a lot of people didn't see it. They have been talking about 'big Anfield fight' for a while now and if he could sell well enough they would've tried it by now. The other champs are with PBC, so if he passes on this all that seems likely is sitting and hoping Canelo wants him for a future fight.

I respect that these guys want to make as much money as possible. Who doesn't? And even when you have 7 figures in the bank you want 8 and so on. But didn't Smith get over 10M from the WBSS? And if Kov got offered $6M I don't see Smith getting offered anymore. So to stall your career hoping for what would be half your career high payday and you'll probably have a catchweight or rehydration clause doesn't seem worth it.

I see him winning but if he loses to BJS it's not going to be a damaging beatdown. He can always claim he had trouble making weight and move up.
