The Ortiz hype is unfounded he did nothing major as an amateur and his best win as a pro is Bryant Jennings he had the chance to fight Whyte when he signed to Matchroom but decided to fight Dave Allan instead and since then he has turned down multiple offers to fight Whyte.

The fact that Wilder has voluntarily decided to fight Ortiz twice and for less money he could earn against the number 1 rated Whyte says it all.
