No no no. Don't give the damn money to Golovkin if he keeps fighting dolls and rolls.
Golovkin is in a position where he has to earn the right to fight Canelo again.
And he only has himself to blame.

Nobody's talking about that apparently Canelo agreed to this WBC thing. Think I'll make a thread on it on a couple hours.

Rosenthal writes another corporate piece to help Canelo, Golden Boy and DAZN sell the Callum Smith or Sergey Kovalev fights.

Another Corporate Shill providing us with designer boxing news to convince us Andrade and Charlo are being considered when they really have been blocked from competition. The article also attempts to justify the priortization of the less important catch weight matchups in higher matchups. Pure Garbage!!!

Andrade beats Canelo. Smith beats Canelo. Golovkin 50/50. Charlo fight would be interesting.

The most obviously egregious, even corrupt part of this whole 'what will Canelo do next' is the WBC's sycophantic, fawning over Alvarez by granting him 'Franchise Champion'.

If I read the previous post correctly it means he is excused from taking on mandatories. He can fight whomever he wants. (And he obviously saw a fight against Charlo as a high-risk low reward proposition, despite the fact Uncle Al doesn't allow his fighters to fight in 50-50 bouts. it's mismatches or inactivity if you're PBC).

Canelo really ought to finish his business at 160 instead of bouncing all over the place at catchweights, 168 and now 175?
What the hell is he trying to accomplish?

He owes Golovkin the third fight on neutral territory, then if he's not interested in unifying at MW, P^* off to 168 and stop making everything so unnecessarily complicated just so you can be praised for winning the most belts.
Fans really don't give a ****e about belts anymore really. We've worked out they're mostly just for show and don't guarantee the best will fight the best.

It's money and exposure that determine who fights who. Oh sure every fighter who captures one of the over 100 belts available says the same boring old lines ' I want to unify the division, I want to show everybody that I'm the best, I only want to fight the best.' Bollocks.

Canelo asked Eddie "who do you have for me next?"... This means Andrade or Callum Smith... (and Callum Smith is just huge...)

The DAZN contracts reward both Canelo and Golovkin for fighti g each other. Eg Golovkin might get 15m for fighting someone other than Canelo, but 30m for fighting Canelo.

Ditto Canelo might get 30m+ or so fighting someone other Golovkin, but 50m+ for fighting Golovkin.

So when you say 'don't give the money to Golovkin', do you mean Canelo should give up his own DAZN escalator bonus so that Golovkin doesn't get his ?

I would love to see Canelo fighting Bivol. I've heard that Bivol can compete at 168. Bivol can win this fight.

He's just signed a 8 figure contract for 6 fights, if he fights 6 rolls what's he got to lose?

That's exactly what I mean. Canelo's mindset is focused on money but also meaningless titles and trying to make himself a legend with a little help from the WBC.
But he's also taking tough fights en route to accomplishments.
For me it would be only fair to see Golovkin get "another belt" first and earn that +20m.
I think Golovkin needs the bonus more than Canelo.
