Adames did good in the final round; on the flip side it took Adames until the last 2 rounds to hurt Day.

Adames could be good but he needs a LOT of work

You cannot knock everyone out. Day obviously has some good skills and could give lots of people trouble. Adames himself is a good fighter, but I don't think he is champion caliber. I don't think he will ever be. He will be a good contender though.
