GGG fought Canelo next instead and the IBF stripped him at that point. So they stripped him for fighting Canelo instead of Derevianchenko.

Blame Haymon.
He knew as long as Canelo was WBC champ none of his fighters would get a shot as they would have to go to DAZN.
So they made him a sweetheart deal to elevate Canelo and basically give Charlo the title without having to earn it to please Haymon.
Canelo or GGG would beat Charlo’s ass but they knew dealing with Haymon would make it almost impossible to make the fight.
