If Kovalev would have to drop in weight, it's even more unappealing
So you don't want to see canelo face somebody good at 175 because he hasn't fought anybody good at 168. Even thought canelo is relatively undefeated and is the current golden goose of boxing..him moving up.to 175 to face a.quality hard pinching opponent doesn't interest you. Why. Very interesting prospect imo..rather than boring ggg 3 or Callum.smith

      I think you're right

Yep, that's the right way. The LHW divison is busy and there's fights to be made. Kovalev can keep going about his business and if Canelo wants to fight him he can move up and fight him.

Catchweights etc, I don't think will be applicable in this one.

Kovalev including the pic of Smith in his post is interesting.
I guess he's saying the same to him too.

Because Kovalev is way bigger than Canelo. If Canelo loses, he just bit 9ff more than he could chew, if Kovalev wins, he gets no credit because he's 2 weight classes bigger.

Same as Mikey-Spence.. mikey had nothing to lose yet he still came out looking terrible because he looked completely outclassed as well as being the smaller guy.

These guys should stick to fighting guys in their own weight class.

Kovalev has numerous guys he can unify with in house at top rank and ESPN and Canelo has GGG, Andrade, Charlo and others he can fight at 160. We don't need circus shows, we need good fights between guys the same size

"I saw this picture and that's what I say about this!
If “Redhead” is really serious, he intends to rise in my weight and fight with me, which will definitely go down in the history of world boxing, but I don’t intend to rival him, so as not to look like a ********** to earn more what can I do without him! ☝ As we say: "I took the ball, so kick!" I am always open and ready to accept any fight
            #krasher #KRUSHER # Kovalev #canelokovalev #boxing"

So he basically said he won't be used like a ********** and wait around for Canelo like GGG did. He welcomes the fight but won't be taking advantage of, 'rise in my weight' hopefully indicates a catch-weight won't happen

What he said it that he won't be fighting at a catch weight so that means this fight won't happen. If Canelo does it at 175, he's going to get stretchered. Mark my words.
