Does Crawford need more to prove himself.....?

Considering Bud Crawford in the welterweight division, Do you think he still needs better competition to prove himself?
We saw how he has beaten Khan, who is reputably an easy opponent because of his fragile chin, Benavidez, who is widely known to have had a deficiency in his leg in the fight, and Horn, a fighter in the division who is not really recognized as a great concerning skill and technique.

He doesn’t need to prove himself, he’s clearly an elite Welterweight.

I think we’d all like to see him fight other elite Welterweights though.

He just needs that one marquee fight. Crawford can fight his ass off.

Crawford has the skills but he needs top competition.

I recognize him as a top guy but can't rate him high because he has no really good wins at WW.

You can say that he is good all you want but he has to fight the upper tier of the division.

I do not understand by what standard Crawford has proved himself at welter. He passes the proverbial eye test but as for the doing, he has done very little.

Yes he still does. He needs a mega matchup fight and win it. He simply hasn't yet. Khan doesn't count as anyone can KO Khan if they just land on him. The Gamboa fight was fun to watch but Gamboa wasn't himself anymore at that time and the smaller guy in there.

I think Crawford NEEDS Spence Jr. What better way to say here I am to the public than going after someone that appears so dominant in all his fights? To show that he's no longer dominant because he faced Crawford would make the statement he needs.

I totally agree. Bud still really needs to fight someone like Porter before he even fights Spence. Porter would really give Bud that work man and that would balance the scale for Bud in the division definitely.

He will not remain at the top in a year or two, if he doesn't fight the top.

You are all right. I personally think he's getting more hype than what he has proven in the WW division because in actuality he really hasn't proven himself much there. I think he should fight Porter after the Spence fight before even trying to fight Spence man. I strongly believe Porter would work Bud well.

Crawford is probably the most skilled welter since Floyd. He is very good at adjusting to different styles whereas other top welters' way of adjusting is bicycle+slug. I really like watching Bud in the ring - he is one of the few truly skilled fighters out there right now

I agree though, we need to see him fight a top welter before we know for a fact
