As for the ranking system, well, can't really argue that much with you there, although Jacobs did just lose his IBF title to Canelo. From what I understand of the rules, aren't you supposed to work your way back up again afted losinf the title?

GGG also refused to fight his mandatory and got stripped, and then lost his next fight to Canelo, so how exactly would he be ranked higher?

through guys you already beat ?

he should obviously be ranked higher than Derevyanchenko, who should also be "working his way back up"

you made some fair points, good post..... but stripping Fury after 8 days is definitely too trigger-happy, and it's not like they mandated Joshua or Wilder or anything

Derevyanchenko already started working his way up by beating Jack Culcay by the time Jacobs lost his title, therefore he falls behind Derevyanchenko.

Fury knew the rules and didnt apply for the exemptiont, can't argue that. And do you really think the IBF just stripped him without giving him a warning? I highly doubt that.

who's down for me to make a LEGIT ranking thread for boxing?

we can start at heavy and work our way down only top 10 etc.
I'm down with that... we can throw up a polls for each division, use a bit of common sense and some longtime posters with good standing drawn from a cross section as oversight and draw up something with consensus agreement.

We get that ish going and looking fairly legit with some consistency we can maybe take it to Rold or Idec and see about getting it made an officialish 'Scene thing eventually.

Charlo just keeps fighting wack opponents when he could fight Andrade or gggir canelo or move up and fight callum or Jacobs next. But nope. He’s content fighting bums in obscurity
Between traditional Showtime and the Showtime app, we're talking about 40 million homes lol, with Charlo also plugged into the PBC orbit that will see him get talked up on FOX and FS1, with even ESPN not able to ignore him if he performs stellarly.

Doubt that the number is anywhere else four times (lol), but Murata is earning what he's earning because of Japan. If Japan liked boxing more than the US, why are there only 2 fighters (maybe 3-5 if you count the Kameda brothers) of any note in the country, with events rarely going beyond the 2500-sear Koruaken Hall?

Charlo has his fight on Saturday; let's see what the numbers are like (or if DAZN ever releases an event viewership report again).

Golovkin and Jacobs are both better than Derevyanchenko

              the IBF should know that

their rankings are awful, there is no other way to put it

Murata did 30 million viewers vs N’Dam. Charlo will be closer to 300,000 lolololol. Even 2 mil on fox wouldn’t come close to Murata’s popularity or his paycheck. You must not know how many sponsors he has either.

Face it Murata as an Olympic gold medalist is way more popular than Charlo.

cheap tickets and give seats and Charlo still only had 6400 people at his fight or about half of what Crawford or Jose Ramirez do at home. I guess Charlo isn’t the draw some people thought he was lol
