Do you guys think the WBO would strip Kovalev if he faced Canelo? I suppose they could agree a step-aside deal with Yarde or something.
Thoughts on Canelo vs Kovalev?

Good fight I suppose but Canelo is picking the most vulnerable and old champ to pick up another belt in another division. He certainly wouldn’t step up and fight guys like Bivol. No doubt he will find a way to badly drain Kovalev too.
With all that said, it’s still a decent fightComment

Kovalev looked better in his last fight, but I can't completely ignore the fact that Alvarez fought one of the dumbest fights I've ever seen from a fighter in a rematch that he won. He literally said that his plan was to just look for a big punch - he neglected everything that he had success with in the first fight and just stood there thinking he was going to land a haymaker at some point...so of course Kovalev looked better.
Once Alvarez kinda woke up and started to throw some body punches in the mid 7-10 rounds I thought he started to slow up the "improved" Kovalev a bit, it was just waayy too late and there was never enough invested. So, I still see Sergei a little vulnerable to a body puncher like Canelo, but will the smaller guy be able to get on a Sergei who does have some speed/snap back in his punches; back to having a long jab, and quick short power shots. Hoping there wouldn't be too much of the Canelo smoke and mirrors with weights and rehydration, it's still something I'd want to seeLast edited by LA_2_Vegas; 06-25-2019, 04:17 PM.Comment

Bivol at 168 catchweight is a better fight. CBA with anymore insane CW fights and Canelos team would be insane not to insist on one with kovalev.Comment

That said, Kovalev is too tidy, and Canelo can find angles around that. If he manages to consistently slip that long jab then he can easily break down the body. I know that sounds insane right now but Canelo is riding so high right now and Kovalev’s aura has gone.Comment
