    Thoughts on Canelo vs Kovalev?

Starting to hear rumours this is a genuine possibility for September. Even at 36 I think Kovalev might be too big, surely he’ll be able to cause Canelo a lot of problems at long range if he boxes the way he did in the Alvarez rematch. I think this is likely posturing by Team Canelo and they’ll likely negotiate the trilogy fight with GGG. But Canelo-Kovalev would be really interesting stylistically IMO.

Age 36 at a CW of 172.. Kovalev will be happy about his big payday, not so much about getting pounded.

I haven’t seen anything about a catchweight tbh.
Kovalev is past his prime but he’s still a skilled fighter. I’d like to see this fight.

If it's just re-hydration clause...then its an awesome fight.

            If its a catch-weight...not interested.

I think Kovalev has seen better days and if it’s a catchweight fight, I think he’s completely screwed. I remember his team saying catchweight was impossible for him back when he fought Ward the first time. So if he’s weight drained, he’s toast IMO.

But if it’s at 175, I think people might assume that Kovalev is more shot than he is. I don’t think he’s the same but his demise is a little overhyped IMO. So I see it as a competitive and fun fight if it happens.

Probably a Catch-weight with a rehydration clause attached to it to make Kov look like a death camp victim lol

Those Golovkin fans are straight sh.it

Kovalev is top-3 in his división actually

                  Period...

He looked great against Álvarez in rematch and thrown a lot of punches

With catchweight or not, it would be an amazing fight

And 2099 times better than 97% of the fights in the career of your Idol GGG

Kovalev can't go under 175. If he did (for a check) then it's not a real fight.
At 175, 5'9" Canelo would get ***ed up by Kovalev. Let's not forget the size difference here and the fact that Kovalev has a brutal jab and good footwork. Sergey would pick him apart and when Canelo is fatigued, he'd finish him. I'm pretty confident in this.

And, if some idiot brings up Chavez Jr...
