My Mexican sources say it will be at a CW of 172 for the WBO LHW Championship.

The catch-weight king strikes again! I would actually favor Canelo to win even at the full weight of 175.

Canelo doesn’t have a title at 168 I guess he wants to do a Pacquiao but if that's the case he should be looking to pick up a vacant belt at catchweight of 170 instead of fighting Kovalev

I used to be a big Canelo fan but if he doesn't fight GGG next I am done with him. If he is going to challenge Kovalev then do it right. Fight him at 175 with no morning 2nd weigh in BS or give GGG the rematch he should have given him in May. If he beats Kovalev would he continue to defend the title at the new Canelo weight of 172 with a morning weigh in as well? Kovalev is a big 175 pounder who would be drained at 172 and even more drained with a morning weigh in. I guess that is the idea of this big bold Canelo challenge.

He's not doing a Pacquiao. Canelo's had near close decision wins with some arguing against him winning. Not nearly as dominating as Pac during his run. Canelo was even on that Mexican beef.

Canelo can try his best impersonation but it'll never be equal.

Would love it if true. But this could just be some negotiation tactics to get GGG to agree to fighting in Vegas in September.
