Comments Thread For: Lobov: Feud With Paulie Malignaggi is Now Over, We Move On

Brooklyn's Malignaggi and Lobov, came to blows in the ring after several months of back-and-forth animosity between them on social media and in person. Both fighters showed their own strengths throughout the fight by trying to strategically outperform the other in what was a close battle in front of a sold out crowd of 4,500 enthusiastic fans from Florida Expo Hall in Tampa live on pay-per-view.

ive been a fan of the magic man for a long time.

        i didnt watch this.

he was a SUPERB boxer. real frickin slick, real solid, fantastic ring IQ...but he hit his expiration date a LONG time ago. i am surprised he lost, but by no means blown away.

how did he look? was he totally shot in this fight? cuz when he fought garcia i thought he looked totally shot (for him).

how was lobovs athleticism and technical ability as a boxer?

What Paulie did during the promotion went beyond the boxing vs. MMA smack talk. Knowing full and well what he said, he embarrassed himself for crossing that line. Although I’m not an MMA fan, I’m happy Lobov force fed Paulie some humility. Stick to commenting since you’ve whined your way into existence.

Paule looked like shet! I fuccing lost a bet with my girl!
His timing was off, footwork looked awful, no power as always, and couldn't put any combinations together!
All he tried to do was land one punch at a time but Lobov said it all along that Paule couldn't hurt him and he didn't.
They both got busted open and I thought it could of gone either way but I expected Paule to win cause like you said, he USED to be a Superb boxer,...
Well he's not that anymore I can tell you that much....

Lobov looked like the plodding caveman he's always been. Put it like this - if it were ANY OTHER BOXER in there...Lobov would have been knocked out.
                Even Brandon Rios.
                Even Chris Algieri.
                Even Josesito Lopez.
                Even Victor Ortiz.
                Even Andre Berto.
Even FLOYD would have sparked the guy.

Lobov has one strategy: punch you in the clinch which is legal in BKFC. Any fighter who's good at that (as Floyd notably was) nullifies that attack. That's all he's got. He's otherwise terrible, no head movement, short reach, etc.

Paulie looked fine for a BOXER, but not as a FIGHTER. That said, even if he were in a boxing match, he looked terrible, just like we all expected.

As out-of-his-prime Paulie looked he got hit in 1 clinch & a headbutt that caused all the damage on his face. Nothing else landed. He won bc Paulie threw almost nothing. & still shoulda won on just jabs alone. He had no business being in there w/ his hands history. We'll see how the MMA guys fare when they square off w/ a solid boxer w/ real power & willing to throw them hands.

Paulie actually looked fine in the clinch he also looked physically stronger than Lobov in the clinch he was able to throw him around just his hands didn't hold up
