Comments Thread For: Andy Ruiz: I Know Joshua's Flaws, He's Not a Good Boxer

Andy Ruiz is not buying any of the excuses being circulated for the shocking defeat of Anthony Joshua. Back on June 1, at Madison Square Garden in New York City, Ruiz stunned the entire industry when he stopped Joshua in seven rounds to capture the WBO, IBO, IBF, WBA world titles.

How dare he be proud of becoming a world champ and coming off the canvas to dominate and stop a guy that was a heavy favorite, appeared to be in better physical shape, and much taller. How dare he be proud of becoming the first Mexican American heavyweight champ. I hope he gets what he deserves for that !

i cant believe that someone who defeated klitcschko, Parker Whyte and povetkin cant defeat Ruiz.

Joshua should not be defensive. He should use his heavy offense as a defense

The small guys are all wrong for Joshua. If he can avoid getting knocked down or out for 12 they'll probably gift him his belts back.

Truth be told Joshua looked uncomfortable from round 1. The hand speed made him gun-shy & he didn't have a good enough jab to keep Andy at the end of it . AJ can't do nothing if Andy gets in close.

I'll tell you right now. If Joshua doesn't learn how to 1. Tuck his chin 2. Use his jab effectively 3. Not gas out early 4. Keep Andy from getting to close 5. Learn how to tie up a shorter armed fighter when they get too close, he loses again

Aside from that 1 kd that Ruiz recovered from immediately, I saw nothing that would lead me to believe AJ winsthe rematch

Ruiz has the kryptonite assets for Joshua. He counters with fast combinations. No other opponent has done that to Joshua. That's the classic Mexican style, but usually only seen at the lower weights.
If Joshua opens up with his offense, he'll just get countered again. We already saw what happened when he did that. It wasn't luck.

Depends how you look at it.

AJ and Whyte were both quite green when they fought, still at domestic level. Whyte was also carrying a shoulder injury. He had AJ badly hurt too.

Klitschko was old, coming off a loss and inactive. He almost stopped Joshua.

Povetkin was nearly 40, looked garbage after coming back from his drugs ban. Didn’t look good against Hammer and nearly got iced by David Price. He’s still decent but looked nothing like Povetkin of a few years ago.

As for Parker, well the ref didn’t even let him work. He wouldn’t let him near Joshua.

That’s not to discredit any of his wins, you can only beat what’s infront of you but it’s not like he beat great versions of some of those fighters and even then he was showing vulnerabilities, getting hurt etc.. So it’s not like there was no signs.
