Why I’ve cooled on Dillian Whyte

I see an extreme enthusiasm from people on here regarding Dillian Whyte’s status as a top contender, just outside the champs and Anthony Joshua.

I ain’t buying it. I used to buy it but I don’t know.

What really did it for me was seeing Joshua get knocked out. It made me discount Whyte’s performance in the AJ fight big time.

But he also could have easily lost his first fight with Chisora and he was losing the second fight late in the fight.

He went life and death with Joseph Parker and almost gave away a certain win.

And Lucas Browne turned out to be garbage.

I respect him for some of the recent names he’s chosen to fight, including this upcoming battle with Rivas. But I’m not sold on his ability to be the top guy yet.

I personally think he’s a fighter who could deal good damage to anyone and clearly can take a punch too. Having said that I don’t think he would consistently beat the very best, but would be capable. I wouldn’t completely write him off against either wilder or fury but would have him as an outsider. I personally have him above the likes of Parker Povetkin Ortiz etc

Yea man you bring up a good point. Im not sold on him as top tier either. I had derrick chisora beating him on the cards till he bailed himself out. He basically has a punchers chance against the best. He has improved but not by much. Id like to see him either in a rematch with parker or against ortiz dubois or joyce

I don't even think he would get past the Colombian fella, more reason why am shocked with the WBC protection of Wilder

Whyte is 2nd tier but well worth watching. Without the headbutt, Parker defeats him.

WBC basically said Dillian and his team are liars. If it were true Whyte would have took them to court by now

I never thought he was that great.

He was sold by Joshua's English Muffins as this terrifying dude to justify him giving Joshua a hard time, and those same people claiming Deontay was afraid of him.

Now, we see how flawed Joshua was.

To be honest the WBC have zero credibility.
