Overall, though who was the more popular fighter in either era? Which of these two fighters was the most popular in Great Britain; Prince Naseem Hamed or Ricky Hatton? In other words, who had more fans?

Depends on the criteria.

Hatton peaked with more UK PPV buys, 1.15 million (vs. Mayweather) compared to Naseem's peak of 720,000 (in the early days of UK PPV).

But Naseem drew a lot more free TV viewers, peaking at 13 million. I'm not sure if Hatton drew even half as many viewers (prime time boxing had declined).

That's why it's hard to compare different eras. In Naseem's time, UK boxing was prime time and PPV only just began in the UK. In Hatton's time, UK boxing became more PPV and less prime time.
