It was the first time EVER that Mercer hit the canvas. He took an absolute beating in that fight.

He was also 41 years old. Dropping a 41 year old, who was B level in his prime isn't so great imo.

Ray MERCER was not a B level fighter.
He was a immensely dangerous fighter. 'Elite level power, durable, and offensively minded at all times.
But yes against Kiltschko he was visibly not at his best.

He was B level. Lower top 10 fighter, never considered among the best.

Ray was a good fighter no question. Gave Lewis all he could handle and destroyed Morrison. He had a granite jaw as Lewis commented after their match. I enjoyed his fights.

Have you ever seen Hoyfield vs Mercer?
Round 8 a prime in shape Mercer was forced to take a knee when Holyfield connected with a few combinations.
