        I believe that fight was nothing more than a publicity stunt than anything. Gervonta would have stomp kicked the living shit out of Abner Mares and he knows it too. That's why he thought better of it and changed his mind.

            I agree OP. It was all because of Mares, Gervantes popularity skyrocketed.
