Hearn needed a legit opponent to sell DAZN subscriptions. He unwittingly compromised Joshua's career in the process.

But as fans who cares, we got to see a legit fight whereas Fury & Wilder fought duds. We're not promoters, Eddie did us a favour.

He found a proper tomato can that looks the part but is notorious for quitting and theatrics and matched him against Fury. Fury beat up the mismatch in style whilst looking good. Boxing heads moan about the mismatch but the casuals are loving it and his fan base keeps growing in the US.

Fu..cking dumb jock, Eddie Hearn, ought to have done the same thing with Josh. When Miller got popped for PED. Wilder was mandated to Fight a bum in Breazeale who's tailor-made for him. Fury picked Schwarz. Hearn should've picked either Trevor Bryan or Charr since it's 5 wks notice and both look the part and are ranked very high by WBA. But this piehead picked a short fat fu..cker he had to sell to the casuals and whose style is very dangerous against Josh, especially since Josh struggles against short guys and it's in a different country on short notice.

Matchroom is gonna get one of its boxers killed in the ring very soon with how they match boxers. I'm hearing Dave Allen who's a career journeyman is gonna be matched against Povetkin if he can get past Pricey. Dave Allen will get killed, lol. Eddie is a greedy cu..nt and he'll self-destruct and get shamed out of boxing in the next few years.
Not to defend Eddie Hearn but he had been instructed by Joshua to find him the best opponent available. He didn't want an opponent, just to sign, show up and lay down in order to collect an easy payday.

That's why he initially chose Miller, before he popped dirty for PED use, then Ortiz before he priced himself out and then subsequently settling on Andy Ruiz, Jr. AJ got tired of fighting mandatory Euro bum after Euro bum after the Klitschko bout in 2017.

So he wanted to start giving the boxing fans, the fights that we wanted to see. So that's why he chose an opponent, who was not only coming to fight but to also win. Besides, Joshua's previous fight with Ruiz was a hundred times more exciting and entertaining than Tyson Fury's last bout with Tom Schwarz anyhow.

Fury did this not TR or Bob.

Bob been advertising this fight non-stop in Vegas since Canelo vs Jacobs fight week & only got 9k mfers to show up. Fury got those 9k people & everyone who was watching attention above & beyond expectations.

This wasn't a promoter thing. This was a fighter thing & Eddie does got a big mouth, but he ain't got a fighter with as big a mouth as Fury.

Joshua vs Ruiz was historic, Fury vs Schwartz was a farce.

            Good post.

No, Josh's team never wanted Ruiz because of the way he looks. They rejected him but Hearn forced Ruiz on them. They wanted Ortiz and since they Ortiz thing failed (Ortiz would've been a better fight and preparations would've been different). Hearn just went with Ruiz because he has plans to get him on DAZN after since he has no TV deal.

Add that to all the Wilder crap Hearn kept making the whole fight about talking about Josh needs to go out of character and question Wilder's manhood. Josh wasn't even feeling it and you could tell by the look on his eyes when Hearn suggested it. And the fight itself should've been cancelled but what transpired will come out in the public on a later date because there's time for everything.

                Good post.
If others aren't fighting top contenders why should Josh be the only doing it? It's not like the casuals appreciate it, anyway. He has been fighting top fighters from his 16th fight with no breaks. And if he needed to fight a bum, his last fight was the one after Miller got popped. It's all about presenting it right to the public/casuals.

Ali, Foreman, Tyson etc., in their heyday used to fight bums as well in every other fight. There used to be bouts labelled "bum of the month" back then where they will give them an overmatched opponent to beat up for fun. It's all about marketing and strategising.

Look at Josh Kelly who turned pro just 2 years ago and who's still a novice and how Hearn almost ruined him. The guy is still learning, yet Hearn matched him up with a guy that was recently involved in a title fight and who's bad match-up for him style wise. He just messed up the young lad's confidence and hopefully it won't affect him on the long run. You just can't be rushing these fighters, give them time to grow the right way. He's not the one getting his face and head punched around, I guess that's why he runs his mouth everywhere. I feel sorry for him because one of the boxers will end up battering him one of these days.

Fury needs his mouth to sell himself. Josh doesn't need that, he has a huge fan base of women, kids and old people. If you have been to his fights, you'd know this. So he doesn't need a promoter to sell his fights because these people will turn up.

Ruiz was and is somebody Joshua is supposed to beat. There's a massive team behind Joshua and none of them seemed to have turned the fight down either. If Ruiz is a bad opponent for Joshua stylistically then those closer to him should have steered him away from Ruiz.

It's too late to point fingers now. All Joshua can do is learn how to use his size and movement or lose again.
