I haven't listened to that one yet. But Bob made it seem like Endeavor sort of chose to not buy a boxing company yet. There still may be more to this or maybe Todd is right and it was nothing serious.

Maybe I guess you could argue the best among them would be worth more in a more open competition world, but I think the overall status quo is positive for the sport, the business of the sport & 99% of the athletes in the sport cuz it ups the the "middle class" & "lower class" athletes in the sport.

It does weed out more lower level guys, but personally I think boxing needs to weed out more lower level guys. Any ass hole who can't fall off the treadmill during the boxing license process can be a pro boxer & once you are a pro boxer you are IN boxing. You can be IN football, but being in the NFL means something. Boxing needs a better defined quality control threshold that a league would give it.

Thats why we got so many -3000 fights like the Tyson Fury fight tonight.
NFL players definitely do get ****ed over compared to other athletes with the amount of money the league generates their contracts are not even guaranteed they can freeze you over if owners don't like you

Tennis is more comparable to boxing than league sports boxing is global sport it's not like the NFL or UFC

Personally, I don't think it's a good idea for one firm to hold a hegemony over the entire combat sports industry in the U.S. It would be similar, to when Vince McMahon, Jr bought his father's company and went national in order to put the rest of the professional wrestling companies out of business by destroying the NWA and its territorial systems and then rebranding it Sports Entertainment.
