Now that the initial sting of Anthony Joshua's upset loss to Andy Ruiz Jr. has subsided, Deontay Wilder has taken an optimistic approach to their highly anticipated fight falling apart. The unbeaten WBC champion told Scott Van Pelt on his ESPN show Wednesday night that he believes he'll eventually fight Joshua. Honestly Wilder avoided the Joshua fight and planned to do it after he made money from the Ortiz fight and the one after it. That's what happens when you wait too long.

I think Wilder is a good boxer. Hes fast, has a good chin, huge power, good enough skills. I don't know why he doesn't fight more top 10 rated opponents

Deontay is doing fine with money he still made over 30 million and if he continues to win he will be the new face and make even more now that Joshua has fallen that deal wasn't worth it not too many have DAZN and now with the fall of Joshua I don't see them lasting after Canelo or even before because if you live close to Mexico you can see Canelo fight for free on Mexican TV so there is no point to even get the app most the fights are mismatches with past prime fighters.

who are the top 10 HWs? hes fought fury Ortiz and breazelle that's 3 top 10 opponents in a row. thing is its not many big names in the top 10...

Firstly, I humbly admit to having NO IDEA how DAZN constructs their contracts, but given the amount of money they throw around, they must surely have some reasonably intelligent people on board (?).

The 100m was for Breazeale (20), then Joshua (40) then Joshua again (40). Wouldn't the contract be contingent on:

(1) Joshua continuing to win, and
(2) The first Wilder/Joshua fight justifying a rematch ?

I can't imagine they would continue paying Wilder 40m for each of fights 2 and 3 if the Joshua fights became no longer viable (as they currently haven't, but maybe might again in the future, who knows).

So even if Wilder did agree to the 100m 3-fight contract, it might have been voided by now anyway given the contingencies it was based on failed to pan out.

(only difference being he would have got 10m more for the Breazeale fight, so Wilder might simply just be 10m down on not accepting the DAZN deal).
