Abel was more than a trainer. He was a more vocal promoter than Loeffler. Abel was more charismatic than Tom & spoke for a fighter who doesn't speak great English. Abel was always doing interviews and being the heel. The one everybody hated for his outrageous remarks.

Abel was the missing piece last week and there wasn't the same buzz. That was reflected in ticket sales and viewing. Can't just say it was Rolls because GGG sold well against an unknown Monroe Jr and others.

Abel got tired of lying for GGG and Anthony Banks isn’t a big Lyar evidences of this can be seen on interviews where Banks opinion is that GGG did terrible vs Canelo on both fights! I can provide a link. He didn’t want to admit that Canelo flat out won but he did say he agreed with both decisions but it seems like he feels Canelo won both fights

Strange the priorities these days with the supposed fans of the sport. Abel is the preferred trainer because he talks to the press a lot and is better for ticket sales ...okay

You do have a point, but I don't think it's relevant anymore. No matter who his mouth piece is going forward, the impact on his popularity will be minimal. He has reached about as high as a guy of his age and background can reach.

There is only one way left for him to dramatically increase his standing, and that's with an emphatic KO of Alvarez.

Do you think it was Abel's talk that intimidated Canelo into fighting at Canelo weight for so long? If so, that talk did Golovkin no favors.
