Joe Frazier was 27 years old and in his prime in '71. He was the undefeated heavyweight champion who had actually been active unlike Ali who'd only recently comeback after losing 3 years in his prime.
And yeah, Cooper rocked Ali, so what?
He got up and stopped him, like I said.
Frazier got dominated & destroyed by George Foreman, before Ali embarrassed him.
Even Evander Holyfield didn't beat Foreman as bad as a post prime Ali did 20 years later
Lot's of historically great fighters have trouble early in their careers.
Look at Mayweather against Emmanuel Augustus.
Bernard Hopkins lost his first career fight, so?
Manny Pacquiao lost to a guy named Rustics Torrecampo in his 14th fight, so?
And Muhammad Ali wouldn't have gotten dominated by the Pillsbury Doughboy in Andy Ruiz, a guy who lost to Joseph Parker.
Muhammad Ali would've never let a 41 year old Vladimir Klitchschko push him to the limit.
Most importantly, he would've never a scammer like Eddie Hearn lead him around like a lost puppy away from any real challenges .
Definitely not in his prime.
And how do you not think Ali won the 3rd fight?
Joe Frazier quit on his stoop
Did you even watch the "Thrilla in Manilla?"
Nobody question's whether or not Frazier won the first fight. It's not even controversial.
