Who's the better opponent for Mayweather..

not a bashing thread, just want to know opinions..

rumors are leaning towards Cory Spinks being Floyd's next opponent, do you consider him a better choice than Margarito?

out of the two fighters, vote the quick poll above..

    Simple; Margarito.

Spinks was just demolished by the guy Mayweather just demolished (Judah).

He just beat Roman Karmazin who krushed Kassim Ouma. Karmazin also had a belt. On paper, this means more. In reality, Margarito is probably the tougher fight, but on paper, it doesnt mean ****. Legacies are written historically and as the years go by, memory doesnt serve as well, so on paper is the only way any of us will be able to judge in the future. Therefore, on paper, Spinks is the more legit opponent as far as legacies go.

This wouldnt be a problem however, if Margarito went and took on other contenders.

Margarito, I've heard the stories about PBF whooping Spinks in the gym, I don't want to see that **** televised, atleast Margarito presents a challenge.

Karmazin beat a sick Kassim Ouma.. and people know Spinks squeezed out his victory with Karmazin (i had Spinks winning btw). I dare you to put Spinks in front of Kassim right now and we'll see who comes out on top..

Also, the phrase "on paper" is a good part of the reason why Mayweather (and boxing in general) is getting so much criticism lately.

I agree, Ouma probably was sick, but on paper, the wins are wins. Think about Chavez vs Taylor, we all know what happened, but it doesnt matter. Same with Whitaker Chavez, we know what happened, but on paper is how its remembered. Spinks at the LEAST, has a win over 3 contenders, Mayorga/Judah/Karmazin and no matter what those are wins. He has a belt, Spinks has a little something to show for other than circumstantial reasoning like "Hes dangerous" "Hes a challange". I agree Margarito is a better challange, but you need more than that in todays boxing to get fights with the best fighters.
