Yes “gave him the chance” which he indeed took in good fashion.
So, was he “chosen”? How do you say it then?
There were many that were ready to go and many jumped at the possibility but, your man was “given the chance” or “opportunity” say it however you like, he still walked away with the belts yes, but my point firstly, he will want to avoid it if he can by possibly insisting on a fight in Mexico (early indications as I said) OR vacate OR get stripped and why? He will have not fulfilled his contractual obligations (he signed this when he was all excited at the prospect of facing the champ) which he never read and his team are looking like their gonna back away from it.
I personally think it’s just another historic fluke and good luck to him for as long as he can string it out but facts are facts and the songs his team are singing at the moment are a CLEAR indication he will drag his heals and feel like the king of the world for as long as he don’t have to face Anthony Joshua here in England (like the contract will say).

Not 91,000 bums in seats outside in November. Not even you are dumb enough to pay good money to get rained on for hours waiting on this bout. Especially at Wembley where you can't bring or buy beer inside.Comment

Ha. I just knew people were going to take it that way, cuz of the "big debate" going on about the Mexican-American.
For the record Mr. Tucker, I knew you were talking about the UK. Common sense, but I get it, people are caught up with the MX vs US debate cuz a bunch of guys wanted to provoke American fans when Ruiz was all pro-Mexican and whatnot.
So to be clear, he was referring to how JOSHUA fought away from HIS home turf, last fight. For all intents and purposes, AJ fought on Ruiz's turf, first time. Ruiz can claim the US and Mexico, we'll give Joshua the UK, and maybe Wales... maybe Nigeria too.

Your missing the point here, the man was given a chance at the champ with conditions.
Still don’t get it? Firstly, Ruiz was NOT in line and wasn’t the planned opponent. Fortunately for him, he took the offer that would obviously come with conditions. Why you may ask...read the first bit again over and over till it hits home. He signed the contract THAT all should have read BUT...all they wanted at the most is some publicity and got far more than they expected, the win. From this, they now want to cry over what they signed.
Why would he, they or even you be crying over it? You can’t blame Joshua or Hearn for putting a protection plan in place. Get it in your head, if he wins a rematch then he does have every right and if not or until he does then, he just has the publicity that he craved pre fight with a bit more.
Some here in the uk are saying Joshua is looking to cash out, this I’m hearing more and more lately so, although I thought he would win the rematch, maybe desire is no longer there.Comment
