I'm not super confident that Lopez will get past Commey. If he does then Loma might have a tough fight on his hands. Lopez looks the part but he doesn't have the experience.

But your right, it remains unknown how he will operate against top level. I can remember some commentator (Kellerman?) gushing about Juanma like he was the second coming at one point, and we know how that turned out.
We haven't seen him get clipped, outboxed or taken into the trenches yet, so we don't know how he will react or be able to adjust.
I personally don't think Teo (or his pop) even wants Loma - they both know he's going to 140 soon, so can sound off how they like about Loma without any later fallout - Teo's image benefits from being in the same discussion as Loma - hence all the Loma talk and threads on it.
Lopez Sr. knows full well that Teo is outgrowing 135, and even if he were to get in the ring with Loma, it would be 2020 at a time when Teo was materially drained at the weight, add that to Teo's inexperience, and what's to gain ? Go to 140, keep developing at the new weight, start getting the belts in a year or two - then keep talking about how Teo would have beaten Loma if they ever fought. Great gameplay.

they need to make it ASAP if it's going to happen at 135. Lopez is too phuking big for the weight and growing fast. His last fight he basically alluded to how hard the training camp was to get to 135. Loma don't seem to want to fight this kid now without a belt on top of him being really touched up since he moved to 135. Dropped and hurt against Linares and then had his face busted up bad by Pedraza.
I can't see Loma moving up to 140. Really his best weight is probably 130. Lopez is going to be at 140 any day now and probably 147 by the time he's in his mid 20's that will be his real weight class. Loma looks like he max'd out at 135 and is already in his 30's and there is a 10 year age gap. Meanwhile lopez will only get better and bigger. This is loma best chance to take him out before he has experience or there is too much weight between them to make a fight at all.

Gonna be funny if Dementia Bob shats the bed and over-marinates once again. If either unproven Lopez or aging hypejob Lomo gets upset, which is entirely plausible, we end up with Gamboa/JuanMa and Wilder/Joshua all over again.

The fight is not going to happen in one more month anyway.

By the time Lopez earns a shot at Loma, if that ever happens, he will be too big.
If Lopez wants it enough, really wants to fight Loma, the road is plain to see. He needs to grab a belt, and stay at 135 for long enough for Loma to take that belt from him.
If he can't, or wont stay at 135 for long enough to earn a shot at Loma, then he really needs to be thinking about the landscape at 140 instead.
